PHYSICAL THERAPIST

We’re looking for a full-time PT, or as we like to call them, ATHLETE MECHANIC™.

ABOUT OUR CLINIC:
Clutch Physical Therapy was built for athletes, by athletes. With two private, outpatient locations, we provide the highest caliber one-on-one sports and orthopedic physical therapy, post-operative rehab and sports performance enhancement in New York City. As athletes ourselves, we understand the caged-animal kind of mentality athletes get when they can't pursue their sport. We provide expert analysis that encompasses full body and movement assessment to pinpoint the root cause of pain and prevent it from recurring. We get our athletes back to doing what they love and help them realize their full athletic potential.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We expect you to be passionate and motivational to your patients. Patients frequently have doubts about their recovery and will be in pain. You have to be able to help ease their minds as well as their bodies.

We’re looking for a people person. You'll be working one-on-one with patients, many of whom don't really want to be there. It’s your job to make them feel better on every level. You'll need to be comfortable in close contact with others while maintaining the utmost respect, and make them feel at ease with you up in their business. You must be an excellent communicator and equally outstanding listener. You’ll need to have the unique ability to not lose your mind if you have to repeat the same information over and over. Most importantly, you'll need to be able to deliver good and bad news with compassion, and always have your patients leave feeling hopeful.

Strength and stamina — physically and mentally — are crucial. You’ll be on your feet and working manually on clients all day, every day. This position is not for the faint of heart or weak of biceps.

You need to possess a near obsessive attention to detail. Nothing slips through the cracks and no one leaves the table without every possible root cause and solution being considered.

Our clinical staff participates in races and athletic events throughout the year. Sometimes it's for charity and sometimes it's just because we're really competitive. It's also our way to better connect with our patients and support our community. We'd like for you to be on board with that, and pursue your own fitness interests, too.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with physicians to deliver exceptional, effective patient care

  • Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans appropriate for patient functional limitations

  • Skillfully apply manual therapy and other appropriate therapeutic techniques to address patient treatment needs

  • Advise patient on activities, treatments and other opportunities to accelerate recovery and support ongoing wellness

  • Develop trusted relationships with doctors, office staff and individuals through active outreach

  • Build relationships through regular in-person and online interactions

  • Support growth of the Clutch PT brand through participation in clinic-sponsored events

  • Help ensure well-run clinical operations by completing necessary documentation and processing in a timely, thorough fashion

  • Stay current on trends and practices in therapeutic treatment

  • Participate in clinical staff education, meetings and improvement programs for patient care and staff development

QUALIFICATONS:

  • NY State licensure is non-negotiable.

  • Advanced training/certifications are ideal. Willingness and desire to work toward them will also be taken into consideration.

  • 3+ years of experience preferred, ideally in sports therapy.

  • Must be strong in manual therapies.

  • Clinical leadership and management experience is a big plus. Ability to demonstrate leadership potential will also be taken into consideration.

  • Athletic background is preferred. That’s probably obvious if you’ve read this far.

COMPENSATION:

  • Competitive salary

  • Opportunity for additional bonuses

  • Revenue sharing opportunity considered for the right candidate

BENEFITS:

We are a family-oriented, PT-owned clinic and consider our employees to be part of that family. Here’s how we take care of our own:

  • Excellent work/life balance

  • 45 minute one-on-one treatments with a max of 9 patients per day

  • Fully covered individual medical EPO plan with opportunity to upgrade

  • 401(k) with a 4% match

  • $2,500 stipend per year for continuing education

  • 3 weeks of paid time off per year, with up to 5 day carryover to the following year, plus 6 national holidays

  • Paid race entry and training fees for Clutch-sponsored events

  • Opportunity to buy into group AD&D plan
